Ms Biannca D. Pace – Chairperson

Biannca is a business woman who started her first company in 1976 (Cache Holdings P/L) an import and design business which dealt in high fashion Florentine leather goods and accessories some of which were her own original designs.  Her goods were so innovative that they were frequently featured in Vogue, Women’s Weekly, Cleo and other magazines.  Concurrently she was running her second company (Commodore Holdings P/L) which developed and manufactured the Mozzie Zapper. This item proved so popular that it was purchased by Samuel Taylor and is still available in Supermarkets.

She is the immediate past NSW President of the Australian Democrats and currently owns The Crystal Gallery at The Rocks, Sydney and has been a part of The Rocks community for 17yrs, serving as President, Vice President and Treasurer of The Rocks Chamber of Commerce (1996-2001) and has been active in the local community through volunteer positions with the Cancer Council and the United Nations Association.

She spearheaded the “Share the Spirit of Peace Summit ” in Sydney in 2003 which became essentially the precursor of the Global Alliance for Ministries and Departments of Peace where she now also serves as part of the Steering Committee and is the Financial Co-ordinator.

Founder and Director of the Conflict Resolution Network (CRN) she is a peacemaker and a peace builder, a mother, grandmother and octogenarian.

Well known and highly respected on a global level for her work in the CRN and for providing this vital public service which is now used on a global scale to people of all classes and economic status. Dr Cornelius has initiated the following campaigns and programs.

In 1982 she launched an Australian campaign for a Ministry for peace established at Federal Government level which would “professionalise peace” and equalise opportunity between military and non-confrontational approaches.  A book was published: ISBN 09499653024.

In 1978 she established Media Peace Awards and initiated the Conflict resolving Media program.  These awards and program’s recognised the vital role that media can play in building a peaceful, creative and non- violent society.

A booklet titled “Bilateral Peace Treaties” was published demonstrating the way that nations by making a one to one pledge to peace, to agree to settle all disputes by negotiation or other peaceful means would enable the world to live more peacefully and gradually build an international network giving collaborative power to the peace building nation states.

Work for all who need it. In support of Article 23 of the UN Universal Declaration on Human Rights, Dr Cornelius and the CRN have long been devoted to the elimination of involuntary unemployment, a basic tenet of social justice.

In 12002 CRN launched a campaign suggesting that Australia’s response to global crisis need not be military but rather the capacity to send Humanitarian Response Teams, serving the humanitarian and medical needs of people in desperate need and be meticulously trained for their special purpose which would include a conflict resolution component.
